Mediterranean Route — The Lycian Way

This coast moves at an easy pace.
Clear mornings. Blue coves. Evenings that glow.

For us, the Lycian coast is home ground. We started here with Kaska Villa and learned the small, correct things that make a holiday work: the right base, the right boat, the right hour for the beach. With Holitat, we use that local knowledge to shape simple, beautiful days.

Where the route flows

• Kaş & Kalkan — small harbors, stone lanes, calm bays; easy boat days and quiet dinners with a view.

• Patara — 18 km of sand, dunes, ancient streets, lighthouse trail; turtle nesting area (we time beach hours).

• Kekova — sunken ruins, glassy water, Kaleköy/Simena castle; best by private boat or kayak.

• Fethiye & Ölüdeniz — lagoon swims, island routes, markets; Babadağ for paragliding.

• Faralya & Kabak — ridge views, stepped paths to tiny coves, slow cafés.

• Ancient sites — Xanthos–Letoon, Tlos, Pinara, Myra, Phaselis; open-air history.

Pick two (sometimes three) bases. We link them with short drives and days that fit the season.

Lycian Way — walk the good bits

You don’t need to thru-hike. We choose short, view-heavy sections and handle the transfers:

• Kayaköy → Ölüdeniz (ghost village to the blue lagoon)

• Faralya → Kabak (cliff line, sea below)

• Üçağız → Kaleköy (castle and island light)

• Çavdır → Patara (dunes and the ancient city)

Start early, finish at a cove or a café.

What you’ll actually do

Swim before breakfast.
Take a private boat to quiet water; jump in where it turns deep blue.
Kayak over the ruins at Kekova.
Walk a ridge on the Lycian Way, then meze and grilled fish back in town.
If you like height, glide over Ölüdeniz at golden hour.
If you like calm, sunset from Kaleköy is enough.

When to go

• April–June & Sept–Nov — best blend: clear water, mild heat, good hiking.

• July–August — bright and busy; we plan early swims, shade at noon, short walks.

• Winter — quiet, some rain; better for walks than long swims.

Stays that fit the coast

• Apartments near markets and harbors.

• Private villas for sea views, privacy, and slow evenings (our Kaska Villa roots mean strong options here).

• All-inclusive hotels if you want to switch off completely.
